Lease Return Checklist

Lease Return Checklist

If you’re approaching the end of your short- or long-term leasing agreement through our Brown-Daub Kia dealership, it’s important to stay up to date with your lease return checklist. You may be a curious driver in Easton, Allentown, or Quakertown, PA, and we want to help you.

By staying on top of all the accessories, payments, and other important items tied to your leased vehicle, you can ensure a clean process to conclude or transition out of your lease.

Make Sure You Remove All Personal Items

Car CleaningPerhaps the most crucial step in the process of returning your leased car is to check, double-check, and triple- check for any personal items you’ve left behind. You’ll want to check all the crevices, cupholders, floor mats, and, of course, the trunk for anything that may have gotten lost during the course of your lease.

If you used your leased car for business, it’s especially important to keep a close eye out for any important documents related to your work or home life. When you return a leased car to us, we want to make sure you’ve gotten out of it everything that belongs to you. That way, both you and our team can rest assured.

Cancel or Pause Any Automatic Payments

Peace of mind is important to the team at our Kia dealership. That’s why we suggest you cancel or pause any automatic payments tied to your leased car. This could include anything from SiriusXM® Radio to OnStar® emergency services. Additionally, you may want to double-check any car-based phone applications you may have acquired on your own.

However, if you’re transitioning to a new leased car at the end of your current lease agreement, you’ll just want to cancel or pause any automatic payments tied to the vehicle you’re currently driving. By doing so, you can keep the essential services going without having to restart the subscription.

Bring Back Your Leased Car to Our Dealership

Returning Car KeysLastly, make sure you return the leased car to our dealership on the agreed-upon date. Returning the car late is likely to result in late fees—and we don’t want you to pay anything extra beyond your existing lease agreement. We also suggest tidying up the car the best you can prior to drop-off. This could include interior vacuuming, a car wash, or just general trash pickup.

Before you head to our dealership to bring in the leased vehicle, make sure you have any receipts of repairs that were completed. You’ll also need to include all the keys and key fobs provided to you at the beginning of your lease. By doing so, everything will be in order on your end—which helps you and us, too!
