New powertrains promise more powerful and fuel-efficient adventures when you engage the throttle. All three powertrains include a 10-year/100,000-mile limited warranty for your peace of mind.
The Kia Sorento comes standard with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. As such, the performance runs like butter with 191 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission propels the Kia SUV to exciting heights as does the optional 8-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
Of special note is the 1.6L Turbo Hybrid powertrain, the first of its kind ever featured in this model. The 2021 Sorento, when so equipped, serves up 258 lb-ft of torque to help you get up to speed quickly. And that’s not all: You’ll see up to an EPA-estimated 39 city/35 highway MPG on your daily drives.*
Although each Sorento trim option comes standard with Front-Wheel Drive, Torque-vectoring All-Wheel Drive with Center-Locking Differential is available. Interested drivers should consider this addition if they’re looking for added traction on slick surfaces or uneven terrain.
