Where They Operate: The West Ward

For more than 60 years, Easton Area Community Center has been serving the West Ward of Easton. It’s the most challenging and diverse area within the city, but that means more children in need.

Their goals are simple: They want to give kids a safe place to gather after school, so they can focus on schoolwork and activities and, most importantly, stay off the streets. The hours of 3 to 6 PM are prime time for juvenile crime, so after-school engagement is even more important.

Children have the chance to do homework, participate in group activities, and work on important life skills that will help them succeed. They’re exposed to positive role models who can help them with all manner of social, physical, and mental development.

Programs for Easton Area Community

Easton Area Community Center offers a wide variety of programs to engage children of all ages. Here are just a few of them:

• Sports Programs—wrestling, basketball, cheerleading, and SPARK exercise/nutrition programs
• EACC Clubhouse—after-school program that supports students with academics
